Scotty, love your show. Wish I'd found it years ago but any way here we go.
I was in a hurry and got a decent deal on an '05 Volvo xc70. Nothing wrong with it. 150k miles.
But the Alarm or Alarm Battery seems to be draining the engine battery if lock the doors. How do I disconnect it or just kill it?
I dont want the alarm bad enuf to take it to a shop.
If you're getting parasitic drain from the alarm, youd need to track down the wiring to see how they spliced in the alarm. Usually this involves removing the lower dash to inspect the wiring underneath the steering column, but it depends on the alarm. Removing one isn't easy, especially if you don't know how it was installed. I would have a professional look into it if it were me. You start cutting wires....you can get into a lot of trouble and even hurt yourself.
