Hey guys not car related question but also a serious question.
So this morning I was going to work and was driving the car on the highway around 60 to 80 mph. There was a car infront and I think the driver dosed off or was drunk . He almost hit my car in the side and I would have hit the pole. His hand were not even on the steering wheel. When his car stopped on middle of the highway I pull my car on the side with hazard light on and called cops.
I honked at he didn't response so I went to his car with base ball bat for safety just to if he was okay and all as soon as I was getting the license plate he drove off and pushed me on the side and I was not able to get the license plate
But I described the car and the driver and also described where he headed do u think that helped or should I have done things differently....it happened so quick I didn't know what to do
So any advice for future precautions....

Invest in a dashcam for ALL your vehicles.
I agreed with u. All my cars have dash cam on it, but the car which I was driving was rented and it had none but was insured. Thankfully he didn't the car but I went to police station and told them everything what time date that happened. They said will pull up the cctv footage. Also I was on the call with police when approching the suspect car. I told them I have baseball bat for the safety and I am gonna check if he is alive or not ....he look pretty much dead to me and it was 4:30 am lol

I'm sorry to hear that. I think you should not have approaches that car for your won safety. Besides calling the cop, did you call your insurance? A film of your car that shows all the damages would be helpful for insurance claims.
I agree. It’s never a good idea to step outside your vehicle, especially if the other party looks shady/suspicious.
