2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid, 180,000+ miles. No previous problems.

The messages clear after the car's been turned off, but come back on from few seconds to a few minutes, although originally they took hours to reappear. The parking brake light also comes on and stays on with the messages, but turns off when the messages have been cleared.

The gas engine no longer stops as it should, for instance at a traffic light, once the messages appear. My gas mileage has dropped by 5-6 mpg since the problem started. All is normal after the messages are cleared - until next I drive.

Multiple error codes were found by a shop. (I found none with an inexpensive code reader.) They said the codes had to do with the communication module, which they said they replaced - and thus fixed the problem. The problem returned the next day.

Brakes pads are in great condition. Trans is good.

I love this car. Bought it used with 42,000m in early 2021 from a dealer. Previous owner worked at the dealership. I've put nearly 140,000 miles on it in a 2 and 1/2 years - as I said, with absolutely no previous problem. I'm a 70-year-old Lyft driver. Still driving - cuz we need it. Getting rid of the car - not an option. I've spent $1,200 already on diagnoses and the "repair"... and don't really trust any shops now without going in with good information.

Btw, I couldn't find any info in the manual that seemed appropriate for this problem.
