Hi yesterday the red batt light came on in my car its a 2012 camry se 140k miles then later other lights came on such a brake,srs ect and steering wheel got hard i figured its the alternator, are autozone alternator good if so waht brand should i buy, or should i rebuild mine. Thanks

@deleon
Put a multimeter on your batter. If it reads around 13 volts at idle and goes to around 15 volts when revved up, the alternator is OK. If not, you can try Autozone, Rock Auto, NAPA, etc. if you can't afford the OEM part. Check to see if you can get a limited lifetime warranty from the discount places, and keep the receipt.

Use a quality rebuilt alternator, since you can have a hard time finding a new one.

Hi,

I would suggest just to rebuild it or buy a rebuilt unit.

Thank you guys, thinking of rebuilding the alternator instead. And see how it goes.

I would recommend purchasing a rebuilt alternator instead of rebuilding yours. They aren't that expensive and most reliable companies have it down to a science.
