I thought about getting a 2SS Camaro or GT Premium Mustang (Both Manual trans). Which would be a better option & why?

What year are they? If they’re new cars, I would avoid both as the Mustang with the manual have had transmission issues. Those trannies are made in China. I would also avoid the Camaro just because it’s a GM product: they’re quality isn’t that great. If you’re looking at used cars, I would get the Mustang 2014 and below. Make sure a trusty mechanic checks it out before purchase.

Nether are great choices for new. If used a mustang pre 2015 would be better. Never get the ecobost mustang.

Neither, you would have to go used. @mod_man can tell you more details, he probably has owned like 50 Mustangs.

At this point none of the Big Three are building reliable, durable muscle cars.  If you want one, it’s better to lease only and return before the bumper to bumper warranty expires.  Also see below:

Sadly, none of the new cars are being built with quality in mind.

The manual Mustangs from 2011 to current use the awful MT-82 transmission that is made in China. Ford was in a class action suit over them and they are prone to fail. See Scotty's comments as well:

The Camaros have engine and transmission problems as well.

If you want a good Mustang, consider a 2010 or older model. For Camaro, try a 2013 or older. I'm a fan of the old school catfish Camaros from the late 90's. When they break, parts are readily available.

I would not recommend any new muscle car at the current time. And yes, it hurts to say that because I love V8 muscle cars.
