I'm looking for a wire that I can use near the radio box that will signal that I have engaged the reverse so that my Android radio screen will show me the camera on the display. It is a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.
That Power signal has to come from the transmission range sensor.
The closest connector is Connector C911 (Black and Pink wire) at the Electrochromatic Inside Mirror unit so you'd have to run your wire across the top of the inside windshield trim and down the pillar trim.
Or if you want you can run the Power from connector C408 (Black and Pink wire) in the driver side of the trunk and run the wire under the door trim
or the reverse light
the way most reverse cameras work is that they power on when the reverse lights come on. The display units sense the presence of an input video signal and switches to it.
