Anti locking brakes coming on

Hi Scotty, Another great video! I have an issue with a 1999 Mercury sable wagon. The problem is when going slow and coming to a stop the anti lock braking tries to come on, on dry pavement. But not all the time. You can hear the chatter . This never happens at other time or and other speed, just when coming to a slow stop. Example, when making a U turn in front of the house. The shops around here do not have a clue. One guy changed the front passenger axle because the tone ring on that side had a crack in it. Did not make a difference. Any clues? THANKS in advance!!

Well and I like braking systems are a relatively complex computer run system. But any decent mechanic with eye level scandal. Could road test it when they act up that scan to a well memorize the event and then the data can be analyzed. It can be anything from a bad wheel speed sensor to a wiring problem to a computer module problem. You'd have to test it out that way. But if it does happen relatively frequently, there should be some type of stored codes that a good mechanic can access with a high level scan tool
