Are clutch master cylinders car or engine specific?

I have a 1995 wrangler with a 74 camaro 350 v8 in it. Recently the clutch has been loose and the car doesn’t go into gear. I checked the master cylinder behind the clutch pedal and it seemed to be leaking a bit of oil. My question is would replacing the clutch master cylinder solve my problem and if so do I get one specific to my car or engine? Or does that not matter.

That depends on whether the stock clutch master cylinder was used or replaced with something else when the engine was changed out.  If you could get a part number off the one you have and look it up on line, you could probably easily get a replacement.  If it's leaking fluid, it's toast.  See if you can match the one you have to a picture of the ones for sale online, click on "images."
