Are used Mercedes G Class (g wagon) good vehicles?

Only if you enjoy an endless litany of frighteningly expensive repairs.

the G Wagon is one if my favs, because every generation basically looks the same.
With that said the internals have been so different from generation to generation and within the past generation. It’s so hard to say if one specific G Wagon will be reliable with so much variation.
I’ll say this. If there is a G Wagon with the intérnals of a Sprinter, that might be one to consider. Otherwise, unless you have deep pockets, pass on a G Wagon.
