I have a 2005 Chevy suburban with a 4l60-e Transmission that has 86,000 miles on it. The fluid looks ok and smells fine, do you think it's too late to change the fluid or should I go ahead?

What interval does your owner’s manual recommend it be changed at?

I would drain and fill now (along with filter change). Then from this point onward I would change the transmission fluid every 40,000 miles.
