2008 Mazda 3 Auto/manual select transmission is ok when cold for 1st 5 minutes. After warm up reverse kills engine. It seems to go into both foward and reverse. also shifts fine when warm from 1st to 2nd and goes into 3rd after engine revs up. Does not slip once in 3rd. revs alot into 4th. So Not driving the car. The shift indicator advances properly so I think computer is sending good shift signals. Is this possibly low oil pressure caused by weak trans pump.
Is the fluid level OK? How long since fluid and filter have been changed?
The car should be scanned with a professional grade scan tool to pull any transmission-related codes and run bidirectional diagnostics.
How many miles please on this 14 year old vehicle?
Sounds like a bad transmission. I would bring it to.a quality transmission shop for an inspection.
