Brakes grind and VSC problem

My 2007 Toyota Camry with automatic transmission miles 168374 grinds when I step on the brake. It’s also indicating a check in the VSC system. What does these mean?

What does these mean?

Your brakes pads have probably worn down. Have you checked them?
