I bought a 2011 Avalon a couple years ago and absolutely love the car, I think the Avalon of this gen is the best sedan Toyota has ever produced. But the Lexus variation has AWD and a few other perks. What's the latest Lexus ES 350 that was based on the Avalon drive-train?
or are there any compelling reasons of staying with the Avalon vs an AWD ES 350? i live in snowy and muddy areas during the seasons, FWD is fine but AWD would be potentially great.
The Avalon and the ES are built on the same platform. I always likened the ES as the Camry and the LS as the Avalon, alas the LS is a totally different platform than the Camry, ES, and Avalon.
The Crown seems to be replacing the Avalon. The Crown nameplate is usually higher end, almost a Lexus without the Lexus branding, IMHO. It’s gonna get confusing in America with the Crown brand coming back.
