AWD Vs FWD

Hi Scotty, 

What should you buy overall? Camry XSE AWD or just FWD? Considering all factors.

The total cost of ownership will be less with the FWD (fewer things to potentially break) so go with the FWD unless you absolutely need the AWD.


Also, AWD systems need nearly identical, matched tires to work properly and not wear out the drive system, so if one tire is worn you may find yourself replacing all 4. See below (this is Subaru AWD but applies to any AWD system):

If you live in snow or heavy rain, AWD. 

If you live in a place that doesn’t s snow and barely rains, FWD.

Is driving the FWD safe if you live in a “snow” state? Thanks

If you get a lot of snow, then buy the one with AWD.
You will get a stuck with the FWD.
