Battery Cable

Love you to death Scotty. My secondary positive cable (it is small) the metal on the terminal clamp has melted. Could you please tell me why? It is a 1999 toyota camry.

You may have loose terminal connection which results in making heat and melting the terminal on the battery.

Could be corrosion where the wire goes into the terminal causing high resistance.

Can you take a photo?


I can't figure out how to do that.

Looks like something hit it


I see your point but as far as I know nothing hit it and you can see some black on the red plastic insulator.


If the thing that hit it was grounded then it would have scorched a bit. Anyway it doesn’t look too bad
