I Just purchased an 2001 Honda Civic EX and is manual transmission. It has 68930 miles when bought on 07/20/2023. The headlight lens are even clear, looks brand new. My question is after shifting into gear sometimes the battery indicator light come on briefly and then goes off. I am not sure where to start to diagnose issue. Why is this happening and what needs to be done to fix any issue. Thanks, Ken
The car is already shift in gear and light goes on. Seems like battery light comes on when speed is decreased and of when going faster.
That doesn't matter, start your troubleshooting just as mmj suggested by load testing the battery and testing alternator.
start by load testing the battery + alternator.
When you shift gears the engine RPM drops slightly, which decreases power output.
