Hi Scotty. I’m looking for the perfect beater car for my partner to use. Currently am thinking an older Toyota Corolla. Are there any years I should stay away from, and how many ks should I not look above? Thank you!

Beater and perfect cannot be used in the same sentence but a Toyota Carolla or especially a Civic might fit the bill. Solid reliability in both!

I think your best bet is Corolla.
For Corolla, avoid models between 1999 to 2002 due to burning oil issues they have.
