What is the best hd diesel pickup in your opinion
The Cummins engines are good ones, but unfortunately, RAMs which use these engines are not good.
Best in terms of what? And which years are we looking at? Beyond 2008 their systems got more complicated (thanks to emissions in part) and some issues could cost thousands upon thousands to fix, and some of those required the cab to be taken off. Not exactly DIY-friendly. The earlier ones (90s, 2000s) were better in that regard.

A well maintained, solid 12 valve Cummins paired with a manual will run you into a million miles.
The 7.3 Powerstroke will do the same if well maintained.
My opinion is the 1st and 2nd gen dodges with a manual transmition
I heard the Ford 7.3PSD and Chevy Silverado Duramax are good ones
Makes me want to look for a junky old Dodge with a good condition Cummins and manual, for cheap and a good condition 80’s or 90’s Ford with a blown motor or transmission for cheap and swap the Cummins and it’s transmission in. ...I’m sure someone’s done it. 😆
