Hi,
I have a stock 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am . I am looking to purchase the best fuel system cleaner for the stock Rochester Quadrajet. I am looking for 2 things. 1 to clean the internals of the carburetor AND also what is the best to remove carbon deposits within the engine internals. The car only has 94K original miles and runs excellent but I have a slight rough idle and a slight miss which I am attributing to the fuel system as I have gone completely through the ignition system.
I have read about RedLine and Royal Purple but as with anything on the internet, there are good and bad reviews. plus this car is older and has a carburetor...most reviews are for fuel injected cars.
Would like your opinion what is the best cleaner in my situation above.
Thank you!!!!!
Try a can of Berryman B 12. It's an old school cleaner and is very strong. You just pour it in the gas and it's under $4 at wally world
Great. Thank You!!!!
Hi,
The berryman B12 worked very well. Cured many issues I had. My question is how often can I use this without causing any issues? Again this is a stock, all original engine/car and I don't want to cause new issues but wondering how often this can be used to continue internal cleanup and preventive care.
Thanks again for the recommendation.
