Best new reliable car to buy

I want to buy a new affordable reliable 4 door sedan with decent mpg. Any suggestion on what is the most reliable? My budget is around 25k

@grandmaster64

Don't buy a new car it's a waste of money.

@grandmaster64
Not necessarily. If you have cash, … or pre-arranged independent financing, you are quite well positioned these days. If you take your time - like weeks, and browse multi dealers, one of them is bound to take your offer.

For example, in my city, Toyota sedans go for as much as 10% less from what Toyota Canada spouts on their official website.

Dealers just can’t sell sedans these days, … yet manufacturers send them to them weekly. Everyone wants an SUV, four wheel drive, … or a hybrid! But basic small sedan? Not so much, …

Anyway, … I think you can pick up a nice, basic Toyota, Honda, … or a Mazda - new if you must - at a pretty good discount. Just be patient and persistent. And remember: … each of them have to sell cars, … but you don’t have to buy from any of them. You have a choice, … make them fight for your business!

Best,

F.S.

Toyota

Honda

but buying new is loosing money .... look for a 3 year old model .... try not to buy from a dealer .... you will need to look but lots of people are out there not wanting to go to a dealer to be fleeced ....

I should note that a CAMRY SE invoice pricing will come in approx $23k

You always ask what the invoice is on new car purchases... then ask to see it!
Offer $1500 less ... but settle for $500-1,000

Lol. Unless you live here in Detroit, where half drive like maniacs and the other half doesn't change oil.

Most any NEW car will be reliable and also have warranties. Its when they surpass 3-4 years and 100k miles where the reliability issues kick in on many makes. But Toyota, Honda and Subie seem to hold up the best long term!

The most reliable according to Scotty is Corolla. For nicer ride buy Camry.
