Binding while making a turn

I recently bought myself a 91 Subaru legacy wagon AWD for $800, it needed tire due to being old and one of them being badly separate. When I got new ties the whole car started shake and the front and rear wheels locked up when I make about half a turn on the steering wheel. I've replace front and rear brakes, front axles, and front diff fluid change I did find small of metal shaving not a lot but enough to notice. I do hope is nothing major.

Thank you for time.

When you changed the tires did you change all 4 at the same time? You need to change all 4 at the same time on AWD cars

@jacksonishere
Yes, I have enough knowledge about AWD vehicles that they need to be replace at the same time. I see now why my dad wasn't happy about when I bought that first car.

Is it an automatic transmission? If so, you may have binding at the transfer clutch pack. Is rear wheel lock up happening at parking lot maneuvers? U-turns?

Automatic transmission and yes happens at parking lots

I would start by changing the atf and filter.

See if there is a fuse to disengage the AWD. If there is one there is a special procedure to flush out the transfer clutch pack, I know that on the 98-2006 or so models this was a common problem.
