Would you recommend this and how safe is it? Jack stand would probably be recommended for added safety. 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Thanks!
John
I checked out a couple reviews.
Seems safe enough if you don't mistreat the hoses. It is indeed always a good idea to have backups like jack stands, it will never hurt to.
It is a significant investment though. Why not just stick with a regular old floor jack?
Jack stands are not required unless you feel this system is unsafe. The unit has a bar in which you lock in to hold it ridgid as a safety precaution. The hydraulics are only for lifting and lowering. You are not to be under the vehicle when lifting and lowering is in motion.
However you could use jack stands to hold the vehicle up and remove the lifting unit if they get in the way as a suggestion.
I see this unit on eBAY for around $1229
Done my research on lifting devices...I went with MaxJack in my home.
Ty!
wow it costs as much as a proper two post hydraulic hoist
There is two locking positions for that lift. Once they are engaged (and never forget to engage them!), gravity will keep them in place and takes any load off the hydraulic apparatus. Any loss of power or leak will not impact it.
This is under Bendpak, a reputable company. When in doubt be sure to follow the recommendations in the manual:
