BMW Limp Home Mode

Hey, I currently own a 2006 BMW 525i automatic with the 3.0L inline 6 engine at about 104k miles. My transmission has  been recently replaced and every time I drive for at least 30 minutes my car goes into limp home mode. The next day the car usually runs fine however, until it happens again. What does this mean? Also whenever I push the gas pedal to hard after the light turns green, my rpm almost goes from 3000rpm to almost redline for some reason, as if my transmission can't decide which gear it needs to be in. This happened in both my new and old transmission by the way.

You should check your car with a mechanic who is a BMW expert. BMWs are so highly computerized that you need a high level scan tool to diagnose their issues.

Did you replace the transmission with a brand new unit, a factory rebuilt one or did somebody rebuild your old transmission?

Either way, take it back to whoever did the job, and make them fix it. If they can’t, demand your money back.
