Hello, I’m trading in my 2017 Escalade for a new 2022 or 2023 BMW X5 within the next couple of weeks. Is there anything I should know about the BMW? This would be my first one. I fell in love with it, it’s rides very smooth it’s not as loud and aggressive looking as my Escalade is, it’s subtle which is what I’m looking for now. I’ve also had my Escalade since 2017 and I’m having a hard time trying to part ways with it. Lol
If you don't mind the price and plan to get rid of it after the warranty ends, it can be a good choice for you, otherwise, it is not a good idea.
Make sense thanks!
You're welcome.
If you don't sweat the small stuff like vanos always causing a check engine light, or water pump every 50k miles lol the x5 is probably one of the most loved BMW SUVs ever. Lol
Win the lottery first, then buy a BMW; you'll need it.

Sounds like you must have one.
A wiser choice would be to lease the X5..
I’ll probably just end up keeping the Escalade
Don’t. Get rid of it while you’re still being offered a pretty penny.
How much money are willing to spend now? BMWs are expensive to maintain and this one will bankrupt you with expense bills.
You didn't say if anything is wrong with your Escalade but if it still runs ok right now with no issues, keep it.
Hi, thanks for the info! I haven’t had any issues that wasn’t covered under warranty. I do have an extended warranty as well. I just wanted to downsize a little and Bmw offered a pretty penny when I got it appraised. I’ll probably just end up keeping the Escalade.
It depends on what YOU want and what your financial situation is like.
They have awful resale, and BMW's have a reputation for getting really expensive pretty quickly.
But if you dont put on many miles a year, and dont mind paying the money for a fun car to drive, why not. But once it starts to cost alot to repair when issues come up, try to sell it.
Yes for sure! It’s a hard decision because I like sitting up high but kind of wanted to downsize a bit. But I’ll probably end up keeping it
I think the BMW X5 is probably the best midsized SUV on the market in terms of performance, feel, and fit & finish quality.
I had one in the family, and it eventually became mine as a hand me down as my daily driver. But that is when my love affair with the BMW X5 ended. It cost soooooooooooooooooo much to maintain and repair. I loved the performance. I love the feel. I loved the fit and finish, even as it aged. But damn did that thin drain my wallet.
If you plan to keep it only during the warranty period, and/or you have loads of money to spend, go for it! If you are budget conscious look elsewhere.
It is a seller's market. So you might end up getting good money for the Escalade and putting it towards the X5. Plus, they are both American-made vehicles. And get the 40i model with the I6. You don't need the V8.
