Hello. I have a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback EX with 38k miles. I have taken it to the dealership until now. It needs a brake fluid change. The manual states to use a Honda branded Heavy Duty brake fluid. It also states I can use a sealed DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid as a temporary replacement. A shop I found states they only carry DOT 4 and will not allow me to bring my own. I read the Honda one might have extra anti corrosives liquid? Will I be ok to put a non OEM DOT 4 brake fluid when my manual asks for a DOT 3 Honda brake fluid?
But ... you already have the answer ...
DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid as a temporary replacement.

Do what your manual is telling you; they know better about the car they have manufactured compared to a shop out there.
