How do I fix poor braking

Topic starter

I have a weird issue with my brakes.

when I press hard on the brake pedal to avoid a collision, the front tires don’t seem to be gripping and stopping the car as fast as they should. It’s quite scary. However, when I use the brake pedal normally/smoothly, it works just fine.
I have recently changed the brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid (all OEM from the dealer), but the issue is still not fixed. My car is a 2015 Mazda 6. Also, the front tires are new.

Has anyone else encountered similar isse? What can I do to fix it?

the tires are Hankook 225 45 R19 tires,

You kinda forgot to mention your mileage. It says to include the make, model, year, kind of transmission and mileage when you asked your question.

How old are the tires? If they're the original tires, it's time to get new ones. After 10 years, the tread compound starts to get hard and not conform to the road anymore.

What kind of new tires are they? Any ABS issues?

@chucktobias the tires are Hankook 225 45 R19 tires, which I’ve always used. No ABS issues as far as I know.
