Hey scotty. My brake pedal gets hard and my brakes are engaging without pressing the pedal whats the cause of this problem?
Car: Toyota Revo 2000 model automatic transmission

Sounds like your brake booster is failing. It uses engine vacuum to enhance the pressure from your foot, and if it's failing, the pedal will be hard to press. The booster is a big, usually black cylindrical object mounted on the driver's side of the firewall, between the brake master cylinder and the firewall.

Also, check to see that the main vacuum line from the intake manifold to the brake booster isn't cracked or disconnected.
