Hello, Scott, I hope your doing well. I have a question about my Kia Seltos ex 2023.i bought it on July 2022. 16050 km.This year of March 2024 I noticed when I go start the car. Step on the brake pedal then press the start button, the brake pedal is stiff? I did a test if my power booster brake is failed. It's seem no issue with the power brake booster. The car start and no issue when I'm braking.only everytime in the morning to go to work the brake pedal is stiff. I step on the brake pedal lightly and press start button, the car start no issue. Is this normal for new suv model of Kia?Please, I'm hoping you could help me what is the issue of brake pedal stiff? Before I go to the dealer.thank you in advance. I also try to scan it OBD 2.no error show.
Your brake pedal is fine. All cars have slightly stiffer brakes when the engine isn't running. The power brake booster utilizes engine vacuum to enhance you pushing on the brakes. When the engine isn't running, there's no vacuum being delivered to the booster.

Sounds like a problem with the brake booster or the vacuum hose leading up to it, though it could also be something in the electronics. Should be covered under warranty either way.
Hello Scott, I just want to add more about Kia Seltos ex 2023.Stiff brake when start the car? When I bought it was new on July 2022.from July 2022 got the car from the dealer, the brake is not stiff when starting the car.it only happen this year of Feb.2024 the brake stiff, when start the car? I hope you could help me please, what is the issue of stiff brake? Thanks again.
