I have a buick lesabre 2001 and I was wondering what could be the cause of a broken gas gauge

A fuel sender unit, which located under the back seat.

I don’t think the fuel sensor is broken I think It needs a new gauge or something any ideas?
Do you have a handy scan tool that can check the percent fuel left electronically on that car? If so, and assuming it does, does it match the fuel gage?

My 2003 lesabre has a bad fuel sending unit and my guage works perfect as long as ots over half a tank but its a pretty easy fix I just don't mind it. Its really only one of 2 things the gage cluster or the sending unit. I'd try the sending unit first since its cheaper.
