I've got a 2006 Ford mustang v6 5spd 158k mi. Brought it to mechanic for clutch kit but found out transmission was full of metal shavings and frothy chocolate milk fluid instead of gear oil. Mechanic thinks dealer either sold me flooded car or put a bottle of "hush hush" in it before selling me car. The 4.0 engine runs great and doesn't have signs of water flooding so I'm thinking the latter happened.
Mechanic said he can replace transmission with used one from another v6 mustang for 1800.00 which includes labor and 90 day full replacement warranty.
While surfing the marketplace I came across 1999 Avalon with 135k mi for 3700.00

Based on what you explained, you probaby have more issues down the road. I would get rid of the Mustang.
