Do I need to buy a car in the state I reside in? And get license plates for it that way? Or am I allowed to have it registered in another state with out ever having it switch to my homestate?

This has been asked several times before. Please try searching existing answers before posting.
(type "state" into the search box on the right)

i have purchased cars out of state, my state just requires a bill of sale in addition to the title, then my state will issue a new title, then i can register it and get plates
i dont think that a state would allow you to register a vehicle as a non-resident, but not 100% sure
