Scotty, I am looking to buy a used car (although in times where prices are high) and I don’t need much. What are your top best reliable cars that I can find with low milage for around $10,000 USD. I am looking at a 2013 Ford Escape SEL with about 64,000 miles from a dealer, and they are asking around $15,000 USD. Would this be a good car? Thanks.
To be honest, the price isn't really unreasonable. However, I would rather opt for a Toyota or a Honda if I wanted a reliable vehicle. In my experience, I've owned 2 Ford vehicles. They held up well over time, but I am a car maintenance freak, and I drive my peasant vehicles like they are Roll Royce. You can't tell whether a salesman is telling the truth or lying about a vehicle history regardless how informative or friendly he or she is. So stick with a brand that is historically reliable.
