Hi Scotty,

I’ve found a good deal with a low milage RX450HL, do you think it is wise to buy a 2nd hand Lexus which is a Hybrid?

Milage is 2000, 2019 model, from a private party.

Thanks,

Tariq

Is that just 2000 original miles? Is there any way of proving the mileage?

If you intend on keeping the vehicle for a long time, realise hybrids are very expensive to repair once they start breaking down. If you’re fine with that, sure it may be worthwhile with just 2000 miles.

Whats the price difference between a new vehicle & the one you’re looking at?

I believe an authorized dealer of Lexus will be able to prove the milage (as I’ve heard nowadays manipulating milage is not easy).
And definitely I’m buying to keep it for years (at least 5 years), but I’m not into spending a fortune on repairing a car every now & then, won’t be wise I’m sure.
Price difference is approximately 10-15K compared to a new 2021.

We have had a 2003 lexus RX330 FWD and now a 2011 Lexus RX450H with no problems other than the usual tires, 12v battery, wipers and maintenance.  Resale is good as they keep their value better than other like wise luxo Suvs.   Interesting fact about the 450H is that its AWD but it is simply a FWD with two electric motors on each rear wheel to provide traction when you need it.  We simply LOVE our Lexus...errr  my wifes that is LOL!

Typical Lexus!

I agree that Lexus is a reliable car without doubt, this is why I’m really interested in this car.
Hope I’ll be able to share my experience soon.
Thanks.

Besure to always check to see if the owners manuals were kept in the vehicle as they are pricy. You can get the same via the Lexus website and download the PDF files. Check thos out as they explain a lot in details especiall the options...Good Luck !
