May I ask what site or sites or places you are getting a JDM? Some look really sketchy, and looking for a trusted source.

Just a head up: … in my end of the woods, Toyota dealers - we have 6 at the last count - will not provide Japanese, privately imported cars, with any service whatsoever! Period.

What’s their logic for not servicing them?
Not sanctioned for export to Canada by the manufacturer!, is the mantra. This is not rare. Mercedes Benz does the same thing.
You want service or parts, … or both? Couple of independent shops service both, … but they are actually importers of these older Japanese and German cars, … "boutiques" as they refer to themselves. Pfft, …
