I've had many camrys because i run a taxi business in Toronto Canada and I'm also a mechanic. These cars have tensioner problems and it will scare the drivers. I tried buying some tensioners from the toyota dealer but it will return to the same problem. What should and what brand of tensioners should I use.

Just a comment: … realize that you actually idle your cars far, far in excess of that what we private owners will ever do, … and that tensioner never, never rests. Hence, perhaps it would be more appropriate to run a clock on how long a tensioner lasts, … instead of odometer reading?

Best,

F.S.

If it continues to be a problem, you might want to do what taxi companies do in DC - they mostly seem to have switched to hybrid Toyotas - they don't run when stopped, get great gas mileage in stop and go, etc.

The problem with hybrids is there pretty expensive when they break

I'm not sure if you can find better ones than OEM parts for Toyota. Can you?
