Hi scotty, I'm Michael from Australia. I own a land rover discovery series 2 it's a 2003 model with a TD5 2.5 letre turbocharged 5 cylinder diesel engine matted with a 4 speed automatic transmission.

I want to know if it's worth while to install 2 oil catch cans so that the oily blow by doesn't coat the insides of the charge pipes and intercooler. I haven't installed it yet as I'm getting all the needed solvents together to give all the pipes and intercooler a thorough cleaning. I also intend on cleaning the intake manifold and replacing the manifold gaskets.

So would it even work or be worth running to oil catch cans?

By the way love your channel, an thank you for sharing your valuable wisdom with us that want to know how to fix our own cars.

Hello fellow aussie.

Yes you can have two catch cans as long as the system is air tight.

Only problem I have found with such a setup is sometime on heavy stopping the idle would bounce..i think it due to the air pressure... i have been playing around with the hose set up.

An16 or 19mm hose from crank and an8 or13mm to  manifold ... seem to help alot .

Take care mate.

Also if this helps .. u want the oil to cool down as much as possible and therefore enter the can in droplet and not mist.  I extended my crack case hose by an extra 1 and half.
