Something needs to be done to simplify the log in process. It took me 5 times to log in. Used different browsers, sometimes works to switch browsers. I fill in all the fields and I'm told that I do not exist. The system is flawed. I am not a computer. I have never been a computer. I do not work for a computer.

CAPTCHA Powered by "F"ix "I"t "A"gain "T"ony

What does it ask you to do when you log in? When I log in, it just wants me to click the "I'm not a robot" button. They make you do those picture/word games? I use Google Chrome...

What browser are you using and is it a PC or MAC computer ?
What version of WINDOZ if that applies.

It asks me to do the same things. When it asks me to solve the math problem I know I am in trouble and everything goes down hill from there. It will ask for my user name or email address, both of which it does not recognize.

How did you manage to log on now if it didn't recognize your email/username? Are you using Google Chrome or some other browser? I've never seen a math problem CAPTCHA before.

I'm using a PC. I use Opera, Chrome, Brave, Epic and Edge. I also use a VPN, IP Vanish. I'm using my VPN right now.

Should add, Windows 10

Wow that is interesting. It does the same thing on all those browsers? I'd say as a temporary fix, maybe just save your login info on Google Chrome and before logging in click the "remeber me" button so you stay logged in. That's what I've done and I very rarely get logged out.

I just added 2 responses and neither showed up in this thread. I was saying that I use a PC Windows 10. I use browsers Brave, Chrome, Epic Edge and Opera. I also us a VPN, IP Vanish.
Hope this reply will show up.

It showed up, reply's. I do use the save log in feature. Maybe Scotty can plug in his scan tool and check freeze frame data to find out where the problem is.

I have these problems also. Admittedly my browsers are configured to always use private mode, so no site data is stored, and I use uMatrix to cut down on 3rd-party sites contacted. (In the case of this site only the facebook and twitter connections are a concern and are blocked.)

I came up with some rules that cut down on the aggravation. More than 3 challenges and I give up and try again later. Same thing if grainy pictures that I can barely make out appear. If after getting through the captcha images a math problem is presented, upon answering that I'm taken to a generic Wordpress login page so I bail out in that case as well.

Frequently I do get in with just one or two challenges but if I see the process heading down a maze of twisty little passages I bail and try again later.

You answered your own question...you're using all that stuff to hide your identity and usage...they're working !

right. To a spam filter you look like a spam bot or hacker.

It is a bit of a nuisance, but it's necessary to keep out all the viagra spam.

I think you will have a better experience if you spend a bit of time configuring your browser. There are a few things which stymie the login process. Browsers have becomes really aggressive at blocking things lately.

- One is tracking blockers which most browsers now turn on by default. You can turn that off for this site. We won't track ya.

- The other is ad blockers. You can turn that off for this site too because there aren't any ads.

Further, take a peek in your browsers security/privacy settings and whitelist carkiller.com there.

For reference, I never need to do the human check because the site remembers me every time. Unless I change browsers or computers, and then I get in first try. What you're experiencing isn't normal.

VPNs and other such things will make things even worse. (you are essentially pretending to be a different person every time you visit)

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

I think there might be some kind of backroom maintenance or service going on. I personally keep one browser on default settings for forum sort of browsing and I do get logged off sometimes on carkiller. Scotty might have to reach out to the website admin to get it down to 1 or 2 times a year or however much is necessary.

website maintenance, especially on a growing site, is constantly ongoing.

I am not having issues and I'm here a lot.
