[Solved] Car battery light on

I have a 2001 ford laser lx 25000miles on it i’m having trouble figuring out the battery light is on all the time on the dash board but my alternator and battery is working fine please let me know how to figure it out

ECU failed

If your battery and alternator are for sure good it has to be a loose or damaged ground or power wire.


Ok I’ll try checking that out.

Cjbman is likely correct. Look for the ground connection between the engine and the frame. This may be a flat braided cable or a large jacketed cable. Remove the connection to the frame and clean the cable and the frame connection and reassemble. Check all other grounds as well. Your vehicle may have a charging sense wire that may have come loose or broken.

Found the problem it was the ECU which was not functioning. Thanx for the help

Did you load test the battery and alternator?

Yes i did and it works ok

measure your voltage

Yes i have checked the voltage it shows 14.5 to 13.8
