Hello!
my name is Jose, I’m in the market for a new car. Both of my parents drive a Nissan (dad drives a frontier and mom drives a kicks) so I’ve been considering buying a kicks but my friends keep telling me that Nissans are bad cars and that they suck. What is your opinion on Nissan cars? Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to answer my question!
best regards,
Jose
I recommend going to FAQ -> Used car buying guide -> Video compilation by Kerem.

Nissans will fall apart after 100k miles but before that they might be OK. But the quality is definetly not as high. For the same price, I would get a Honda HR-V. There are many great cars and most of them have Toyota or Honda badges on them. They might last double or triple what the Nissan would last. Now that said, Toyota rarely takes money off the msrp and lowers the listing price while I have seen Nissan Kicks listed for 7 8 grand below MSRP so that would be the ONLY reason to get one. Really, the reason you may have not hated Nissan by now is because the Frontier is a good truck and the Kicks most likely hasn't reach 100k miles. Toyota would be your best especially models that have been out a while. For example, a used 2017 Rav4 would be a very good choise over a new Kicks.

I agree with Kaizen. I would add Mitsubishi to the NOT to buy list along with all European cars.
Yes I also agree with that also Mitsubishi is part of Renault/Nissan.
My list would be (overall of course)
1. Toyota
2. Honda
3. Mazda
