Hey Scotty, I drive a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 165,000 miles, i was stopped on a intersection and i heard a pop nose and my abs light came on, but then when i pulled over to check my tires, i tried to drive again and my car windows weren’t working, radio was flickering and my car started shaking then i turned it off. And it wouldn’t start back up again. i tried jumpstarting it and it worked but everything kept flickering, and i keep hearing a popping sound everytime i turned the ac on, when i turn the car off after it got jump started it just doesn’t turn back on. It’s like it only gets power when it’s being powered by another car, the car currently is not cranking to start. Everytime i try to turn it on there’s no crank but i can hear a clicking sound coming from somewhere in the engine. I would love some opinions.

could be a failing alternator but you would need to get tested first. Call your local parts dealer and see what they can do for you. I'm not sure if they need it to be in the vehicle or not.

This sounds like a serious electrical issue going on with that Eclipse.

I would say it’s either a bad battery or alternator, but that wouldn’t cause the “shaking” to occur.

Best bet might be to get a new battery, as it sounds like it’s too far gone to be saved even with a jumpstart. I’ve had batteries do that on previous vehicles I’ve owned as well.

sagging voltage can cause misfiring which would induce a shake.
