Car hesitates and stalls. 1998 Accord

Hey Scotty I have a 1998 Honda Accord v6 automatic with 140k mi. that I've owned for over 10 years. Today it  stalled when I was driving on the freeway going 70 mph in the #1 lane. After I pulled over and stopped I tried starting it and it cranked but wouldn't start. I waited about 30 seconds moved the shifter from park to drive and back to park tried again and it started and ran fine. I've had this happen twice before in the last year and I didn't move the shifter and it started. Some times when driving the car will hesitate for a split second and not stall. This has happened several times over the last couple years but sometimes it won't happen for up to a month. I live in Ventura Ca and the independent Japanese car mechanic near me charges $149.00hr all the others are a little cheaper. I only drive about  10 miles a day. Any idea what may be causing this?

Thanks

Dan

Start with the simple stuff first. Check to make sure your battery terminals are clean and fastened tight. Since it is 20+ years old, the connections may be rusted and/or loose.

A similar thing happened to my 1999 Honda Accord.  Same symptoms as you  I ended up shimming the battery and connectors to make sure they were tight.

Keep us updated on how it goes.
