- Hi Scotty, I have a 2002 Ford Taurus, automatic. Bought from a private party. My car jerks upon acceleration at 40 mph and higher. It also really wants to take off once car is put into D for drive. The jerking really occurs when you really give it gas without being real aggressive with pressing gas pedal. Code that has occurred is a P0191. It has 99,000 miles. Any idea what it might be that caused this? Thank you for your time.

Sounds like you have 2 problems -
1. High idle - try this
