Hi scotty, my car recently had its AC replaced, and i notice the car surges when its on and lurches into acceleration. I need help boiling down to the issue because i have no check engine lights and i did clean the Throttle body afterward just incase. My battery is 4 years old but im not sure if thats worth noting. The IAC Is from factory as the throttle body is and the MAP sensor. I had coils and plugs changed 4 years ago and redid plugs last year. The 4th cylinder has oil in it from most likely the spark plug o ring. Would that be a cause to the issue? Causing the engine to not get enough spark and put extra load on the engine? Thanks for the help in advance! Will answer any questions you have about the car and whats replaced or not.
Well if it runs fine with the AC off and it surges of the AC on there's a problem in the AC system compressor could be poorly made or flat worn out a stuck expansion valve many things can make them do that but if it runs perfectly fine with the AC off the only other thing it could be would be a week alternator and the extra surge from AC use makes the electronics act weird
Added note to your comment, it was surging with the ac off prior to having the ac replaced. But when ac was replaced, it only then started surging with the ac on. Would that be a bigger indication towards the alternator side of things? The alternator is still factory as well
