My 2016 mitsubishi sport outlander will power off only when the AC unit is on. I can hear the compressor clutch stopping and going. Freon was added, the line was cold but now it does not feel cold at all. So I don't it's a bad AC compressor?

Well you turn on the AC and the car stalls out. That means you got a problem in the AC system. If the compressor is worn and it strains the engine too much, that's exactly what happens. The only other thing would be is if the compressor shorting out electronically, turn it on shorts the electrical system and makes the car stall then too
