Carb rebuild or replacement

So same vehicle as my previous question, 52 chevy 3100 with a 75 nova front suspension clip and 5.7 Liter V8 engine. The vehicle prior to me owning it had sat for at least 2 years without being run. The time it was run before I had it, it was moved to the front for a wedding, how long it sat before I have no idea. My question is should I rebuild or replace the Edlebrock 4 barrel that is on the engine. It surprisingly starts fine in the morning but any time after, it will take quite a bit and sometimes will backfire on the occasion.

@dao
Gotta love that 350 small block! Literally the most simple engine ever built. My husband has one in his 83 G20, and in our boat (5.7 Mercruiser - marine version, but fully backwards compatible). If our boat breaks, my husband has an extra engine for his van. And vice versa.

But to answer your question, definitely get a remanufactured carb. Research the company though.

I'd probably take a shot at rebuilding it. Probably plugged up with gum and varnish from sitting.
