[Solved] How should I deal with these holes in my carpet

Scotty or anyone,

My 2013 Honda accord Touring with a 6-speed automatic transmission, V6 engine, 131K miles has two holes in the carpet. It looks like superficial rust on the metal under, but I would like suggestions on the best way to patch the holes in the carpet. The floor mats are burnt up (LOL) yet they are still on the floor.

That carpet is done. Throw some fresh new mats over it and call it a day.

Either take it to an upholstery shop or get new mats.

That carpet looks pretty messed up. There are carpet repair kits available but those holes look too big. I think the only way to really repair it is replacement with a carpet kit. That would be a lot of work since the seats and console inside the car would need to come out, and electrical connections could get damaged in the process. (Maybe someone here more familiar with carpet and upholstery would know a repair method. Or you could take it to an auto upholstery shop for a professional recommendation.)

On my own car I'd be inclined to just throw a mat over it and call it a day.
