Scotty,
I have an old back hoe and the head gasket is leaking on the third cylinder. The oil is seeping out from under the "valve cover" at the second cylinder head at the top of engine. There are four cylinders and you can see the number 2 cylinder is clearly leaking because oil just runs down the side of the engine. Is there anything that I can use to stop the leaking? It is a Cummins 390 Cubin inch, 4B diesel engine and I don't want to use mechanic in a bottle. Can I just get some permatex and glob around it to seal it for a while until I have to take it apart and overhaul the machine? Do you have any better suggestions? I am really just a parts changer. I can take some pics and send them to ya if you want. ...Thank you for all your videos! I love your work.

LOL! oh my goodness ... NO!
What a question
I don't want to use mechanic in a bottle.
OK well that's exactly what you're suggesting.
Do you have any better suggestions? I
Yeah do it correctly. Replace the valve cover gasket. it's not that big of a deal. Pretty far from an "overhaul".
I am really just a parts changer.
great change the gasket. don't downgrade to a "gob and gooper"

No.
I can take some pics and send them to ya if you want.
