should i use thinner as  maintenance for my converters say maybe 1 a year to keep them clean .

No. the catalytic converter should maintain itself if you keep the engine in good shape, and get it nice and hot regularly.

Absolutely not. It's a terrible idea propagated by the internet.

No, providing you do even the most basic maintenance, the catalytic converters should be self-cleaning. The catalysts don't run out. I have a 1999 Ranger with almost 300k miles and it's on the same catalytic converter as it was when it was brand new.
