My 1989 Toyota Celica GT Convertiable has a torn CV boot on the right side. Should I replace just the boot or the whole axle. I never done this type of work and not sure on the difficulty. The car is a manual, 3SFE engine with 50K

Best to replace the axle.
@chucktobias Thanks, Is this a job a motivated do it yourself mechanic can do or best left to a Professional?
On most cars it's not a bad DIY job, but I'm not familiar with your Celica. The repair manual available online for that car should be helpful:
