Change transmission fluid?

Hey Scotty I have an 07 Avalon with 190k miles. It shifts like a dream. I have a car fax report of its previous history to show a big service record, although there isn't much detail on exactly what was serviced. The previous owner didn't tell me when the transmission fluid was last changed. I've heard you talk about how you should never change fluid on an old car if its super dirty and how can make the transmission slip if you do. How should I decide whether to change my fluid or not?

If it shifts like a dream, then don't touch it at all. It has 190,000 miles. If you decide to change the fluid, you may actually cause the transmission to operate poorly because the old fluid contains particles from when the clutch-packs wear out, so it helps provide the friction necessary for them to not slip. I suggest leaving it alone.
